I have read and understood the terms and conditions of Pass Bike Ltd below:
At Pass Bike Motorcycle Training, we are compliant with the UK General Data Protection Regulations. As such need to make you aware of the way in which we as a Motorcycle Training School will store and use any personal data kept about you. When purchasing a course, students give Pass Bike their full Name, email address, telephone number, address, D.O.B and driving licence number (if required). These details are stored electronically and sometimes on Paper in a DVSA DL196 (CBT) Book. This information is stored for two years under requirement by the DVSA. Stored information can only be accessed by authorised staff.
Students details are not shared with third parties unless it is required, for booking a motorcycle test or under statutory requirement.
Refunds and Cancellations. Courses cancelled less than 14 days prior to the start date or during the course will not be refunded and all fees forfeited. Courses may be rescheduled without the loss of course fees once only. Requests to reschedule a course must be received 14 days before the start of the course. All deposits are non refundable. Naturally courses cancelled or rescheduled at the company’s discretion will not be subject to charge. I Understand that if I appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs my course will be cancelled and no refund or replacement will be applicable. The companies decision in this matter is final.
I confirm I have a current provisional driving licence entitlement to ride the company’s motorcycle or scooter. I understand that whilst riding a motorcycle or scooter provided by Pass Bike Ltd that I’m liable for any road traffic or local authority fines and or penalties incurred. Verbal or any other form of abuse toward staff and students is not tolerated and will result in the course being terminated. Motorcycling can be dangerous, I understand that I am responsible for my own safety and must take shared responsibility for my learning. I save as exempt the company and directors of Pass Bike Ltd from any liability, claim or action during or after using any product or service provided by the company. If I do not understand what the instructor has asked, I must ask for clarification before starting the task. I understand that my course may be ended early with forfeit of payment if I ignore any safety instructions that put myself, other customers or staff at risk.
I confirm I am in good health and do not suffer from any conditions that may affect my ability to ride, drive or hold a licence. A full list of conditions is available at www.gov.uk/health-conditions-and-driving or by asking to view the Pass Bike Medical Conditions Policy.
I agree to wear appropriate motorcycle safety equipment as required by the company and DVSA guidelines during my course. Failure to wear the correct protective equipment will result in the course being cancelled without refund or replacement.
I understand that I’m liable for the cost of any repairs and parts resulting from damage caused to the motorcycle or scooter whilst in my possession during my training to a maximum liability of £500.
I understand that if a Full Licence test is cancelled by the DVSA, I will not be charged for a replacement test and the continuation of training if applicable. A new test will be arranged at a mutually convenient time. A charge of £40 will be payable for motorcycle hire for the rearranged test.
I understand that if I am unable to attend a training or test day I must inform Pass Bike as soon as possible. Half an hours "grace" is given at the start of each training and test session. Arrivals after this time will forfeit the whole session without refund or replacement. Pass Bike reserves the right to ask a student to stop training if it is considered they are not in good health. Lost sessions will not be refunded or rescheduled.
I understand that if I am not ready to progress onto the road ride section of CBT by hour 6 of my course, I will need to return to continue training in order to complete CBT. Extra sessions will be chargeable.
It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that they have a valid theory, driving licence and CBT certificate for the duration of their DAS course, these must be carried at all times and be ready for inspection by your instructor or examiner. All Workshop repairs must be collected within 1 week of completion, a storage charge of £10 a day will be applied to all vehicles not collected. All repairs must be paid in full before collection, the company reserves the right to seize vehicles until payment is made in full. Storage charges will still apply in this circumstance.
Warranty CONDITIONS AND EXCLUSIONS for used vehicles with a Return to Base Warranty.
1. The machine must not have been used for track days or competition, *misused, inadequately maintained, or incorrectly serviced or maintained.
2. The machine must not have been crashed. A crashed machine will not be covered under this warranty.
3. In the event of mechanical failure, the machine must not have been modified or repaired using parts not authorized or recommended by the manufacturer and must have been fitted by a VAT registered motorcycle garage.
4. The machine must be serviced by a VAT registered motorcycle garage.
Any missing service history may invalidate the warranty.
5. Defects caused by faulty adjustment, or repairs and alterations performed by an individual or amateur mechanic are not covered by this warranty.
6. Defects caused by the use of parts and accessories not authorised by Pass Bike LTD within the warranty period are not covered by this warranty.
7. The warranty does not cover the cost of removal and replacement of parts and accessories, unless supplied at the time of sale.
8. The warranty does not cover the cost of recovery or transporting the motorcycle to or from Pass Bike LTD. Nor does it cover the cost of storage or expenses incurred whilst the machine is off the road for warranty repairs.
9. Normal service items, such as spark plugs, air filters, oil filters are not covered
by this warranty. Other items not covered (but not limited to) are those items which are expected to wear as part of their normal function such as, brake linings, brake discs, chains, sprockets, clutch plates, bulbs, control cables and tyres unless they are the subject of a manufacturing defect.
10. Other exclusions from the warranty are damage to seats, luggage, paint, chrome, polished aluminium items, screens, plastic panels where damage has been caused by normal wear and tear, exposure to Corrosive elements, such as salt, weather, or subject to lack of or inappropriate care. * Misuse includes any use not in accordance with the owners hand book and use contrary to any warnings given in the owners hand book. In addition misuse will include but not be limited to neglect or any use of the motorcycle that does not constitute normal road use.
11. The warranty does not cover motorcycles used for commercial purposes such as motorcycles used for promotion, hire, loan or courier work.
12. The warranty does not cover faults, defects or damage caused by faults or defects that have not been reported to us within two days of discovering the fault.
13. The warranty does not cover damage or faults caused by the use of inadequate coolant, lubricant or non recommended lubricants or fuels or fuel additives. (The user should check fluid levels regularly. See the Owners Manual)
14. The warranty does not cover damage or faults caused by freezing, overheating, ingress of foreign objects or water.
15. The warranty does not cover any third party claims, resultant losses, bodily injury, road hazard damage or fire damage.
16. It is the responsibility of the owner to regularly check for loose nuts and bolts, this warranty does not cover damaged caused by loose or missing nuts and bolts (unless the loose or missing nuts or bolts are inside the unopened engine)
17. Pass Bike LTD shall not be liable for loss of income, use, inconvenience, lost time, commercial losses or other incidental or consequential damages.
18. The warranty is not transferable to another owner.
This warranty shall be interpreted in accordance with English law and any question arising from this warranty shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts. Any statement, representation, condition, description, or warranty otherwise contained in any manual, catalogue, brochure, advertisement or other publication shall not be construed as varying, enlarging or overriding anything contained herein.
Pass Bike LTD Reserve the right to alter or improve without notice any motorcycle without obligation and to do the same to motorcycles already sold. Your statutory rights are not affected by this warranty.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all motorcycle maintenance, motorcycle technician and related training courses provided by Pass Bike Ltd ("Pass Bike", "we", "us" or "our").
By booking a course with Pass Bike, you ("the Customer", "you" or "the Learner") agree to these Terms & Conditions.
These Terms & Conditions should be read together with the course information provided on our website, including the course description, dates, duration, price and any specific information provided to you at the time of booking.
1. ABOUT OUR COURSES
Pass Bike provides practical motorcycle maintenance and technician training courses designed for learners with different levels of experience, from complete beginners and home mechanics through to experienced motorcycle or motor vehicle technicians.
Our courses may include classroom-based instruction, demonstrations, practical workshop activities, assessments and supervised work on motorcycles and associated components.
The content and level of each course will depend on the specific course booked.
Current courses may include:
- 1 Day Motorcycle Maintenance Course
- 4 Day Motorcycle Maintenance Course
- IMI Motorcycle Technician / Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair Certification
Course content, dates, timings, prices and availability are as stated on the website at the time of booking.
2. COURSE BOOKING
A course place is only confirmed once payment has been successfully received and the booking has been accepted by Pass Bike.
Bookings are subject to availability.
When booking online, you are responsible for ensuring that:
- The information supplied is accurate and complete.
- You have selected the correct course and date.
- You are able to attend the course on the date(s) selected.
- You understand the nature and practical requirements of the course.
An automated booking or payment confirmation does not prevent Pass Bike from contacting you if there is an issue with the booking, payment or course availability.
3. COURSE PRICES
The course price is the price displayed on the Pass Bike website at the time the booking is made, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Current advertised prices may include:
- 1 Day Motorcycle Maintenance Course – £150
- 4 Day Motorcycle Maintenance Course – £450
- IMI Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair Certification – £1,295
Prices may change for future course dates. A price change will not affect a booking that has already been confirmed and paid for.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, course prices do not include travel, accommodation, meals or personal expenses.
4. COURSE DATES AND TIMINGS
Course dates and approximate timings are provided on the website and booking confirmation.
The advertised timings are intended as a guide and may occasionally change due to practical requirements, assessment requirements, instructor availability, workshop requirements or other circumstances.
Pass Bike will make reasonable efforts to notify learners of any significant changes to course dates or timings.
Learners are expected to arrive on time and be ready to commence training at the stated start time.
5. CANCELLATION BY THE CUSTOMER
If you need to cancel a course booking, you should contact Pass Bike as soon as possible.
Where a cancellation right applies by law, nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or restrict that statutory right.
For cancellations outside any statutory cancellation period, Pass Bike may offer one of the following, depending on the circumstances:
- Transfer to an alternative available course date;
- A credit towards a future course;
- A refund, less any reasonable costs or losses directly resulting from the cancellation.
Any cancellation charge will be reasonable and proportionate to Pass Bike's actual loss and the steps reasonably available to us to reduce that loss.
Where a place can be successfully re-sold to another learner, Pass Bike will take this into account when considering any cancellation charge.
6. RESCHEDULING A COURSE
We understand that circumstances can change.
Requests to move a booking to another course date should be made as early as possible.
Pass Bike will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests to transfer a booking, subject to availability.
A transfer to another date is not guaranteed and may depend on:
- Availability on the requested course;
- How much notice is provided;
- Whether the original course place can reasonably be reallocated;
- The type and duration of the course booked.
Repeated or late requests to transfer a booking may incur a reasonable administration or cancellation charge where Pass Bike has incurred a genuine loss.
7. NON-ATTENDANCE
If a learner does not attend a booked course without providing reasonable notice, this may be treated as a cancellation by the learner.
Where a learner arrives late, Pass Bike may be unable to repeat or extend practical training that has already taken place.
This is particularly important for courses involving practical workshop activities where certain subjects must be completed in a particular sequence.
Where non-attendance or lateness results in a learner being unable to complete the course, Pass Bike will consider whether an alternative date or additional training can reasonably be provided.
Any additional training or reassessment may be subject to an additional charge where appropriate.
8. COURSE TRANSFERS
A course booking is normally for the named learner only.
A booking may not be transferred to another person without prior agreement from Pass Bike.
This is particularly important for the IMI Motorcycle Technician course, where learner registration and assessment arrangements may be required.
9. LEARNER SUITABILITY
Learners must be physically and mentally capable of safely participating in practical motorcycle maintenance activities.
Some course activities may involve:
- Lifting or supporting motorcycle components;
- Working around machinery and workshop equipment;
- Working with oils, fuels, cleaning products and other workshop substances;
- Using hand and specialist tools;
- Working around electrical systems;
- Working underneath or around motorcycles;
- Practical mechanical repair and maintenance activities.
If you have any condition, injury, restriction or other circumstance that may affect your ability to safely participate in practical activities, you should inform Pass Bike before attending.
Pass Bike may make reasonable adjustments where possible.
However, we reserve the right to refuse participation in a particular practical activity where we reasonably believe that allowing the learner to participate would create an unacceptable safety risk to the learner, other learners, staff or property.
10. HEALTH & SAFETY
Health and safety is a fundamental part of all Pass Bike practical training.
Learners must:
- Follow all reasonable instructions given by instructors and staff;
- Use tools and equipment only as instructed;
- Follow workshop safety procedures;
- Wear any required protective equipment;
- Not interfere with safety equipment;
- Not use machinery or equipment without permission;
- Immediately report any accident, injury, damage or unsafe condition;
- Behave responsibly and consider the safety of other learners and staff.
A learner may be removed from a practical activity or course where their behaviour creates a safety risk.
11. CLOTHING AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Learners attending practical motorcycle maintenance courses should wear suitable workshop clothing.
Unless otherwise advised, learners should wear:
- Appropriate work clothing;
- Sturdy, enclosed footwear;
- Clothing suitable for practical workshop activities.
Pass Bike may require additional personal protective equipment for particular activities.
Where PPE is provided by Pass Bike, learners must use it as instructed.
Learners who arrive without suitable clothing or footwear may be unable to participate in certain practical activities.
12. TOOLS AND WORKSHOP EQUIPMENT
Pass Bike will provide access to the tools and workshop equipment required for the course unless otherwise stated.
Learners must use tools and equipment responsibly and in accordance with instructor instructions.
Learners may be required to pay for damage where equipment has been deliberately or recklessly misused.
Learners must not remove Pass Bike tools, equipment, components or other property from the premises without permission.
13. PRACTICAL MOTORCYCLE WORK
Practical training may involve working on motorcycles, engines, electrical systems, braking systems, chassis components and other mechanical components.
The motorcycles and components used for training may vary depending on availability.
For this reason, Pass Bike cannot guarantee that a particular make, model, engine type or component will be used unless this has been specifically agreed in writing before the course.
Practical exercises may also be adapted where necessary due to the condition, availability or suitability of a particular motorcycle or component.
14. COURSE CONTENT
Pass Bike aims to deliver the course content described on its website and booking information.
However, practical training is inherently dependent on the motorcycles, components, equipment and circumstances available on the day.
Pass Bike therefore reserves the right to reasonably amend, replace or rearrange individual practical exercises where necessary while maintaining the overall objectives and standard of the course.
Any significant change to the course or a significant reduction in the service provided will be communicated to learners where reasonably practicable.
15. LEARNING OUTCOMES
Our courses are intended to provide practical knowledge, understanding and experience.
Completion of a course does not guarantee that a learner will be capable of independently carrying out every motorcycle repair or maintenance procedure encountered in the motorcycle industry.
Motorcycles vary significantly between manufacturers and models.
Learners are responsible for using appropriate manufacturer service information, specifications, torque settings and safety procedures when subsequently working on motorcycles outside the course.
16. CERTIFICATES
Where a course includes a certificate of completion or other certification, the relevant certificate will normally be issued following successful completion of the course and any required assessment.
Completion of a course does not automatically mean that a learner has achieved a separate qualification or certification unless specifically stated in the course description.
For IMI-related courses, certification is subject to meeting the relevant assessment and certification requirements.
Where an assessment is required, learners must successfully complete the relevant assessment requirements before certification can be issued.
Where a learner does not meet the required assessment standard, Pass Bike may provide information regarding available reassessment or further training options.
Any reassessment or additional training may be subject to an additional charge.
17. IMI MOTORCYCLE TECHNICIAN COURSE
The IMI Motorcycle Technician course is intended for experienced amateur mechanics, motor vehicle technicians and others with an appropriate mechanical background who wish to develop their motorcycle maintenance and repair skills.
The course includes practical training and assessments covering areas such as:
- Health and Safety and workshop tools;
- Chassis and frame;
- Engine servicing;
- Braking systems;
- Pre-MOT procedures;
- Electrical and fuel systems;
- Fault diagnosis and repair.
Successful certification is subject to the learner meeting the applicable assessment and certification requirements.
Pass Bike does not guarantee that every learner will achieve certification.
Where a learner does not meet the required assessment standard, Pass Bike may provide information regarding available reassessment or further training options.
Any reassessment or additional training may be subject to an additional charge.
18. LEARNER BEHAVIOUR
Learners are expected to behave respectfully towards instructors, staff and other learners.
Pass Bike does not tolerate:
- Abusive, threatening or intimidating behaviour;
- Violence or threats of violence;
- Harassment or discrimination;
- Deliberate damage to property;
- Unsafe behaviour;
- Attending a course under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Pass Bike may require a learner to leave the premises where their behaviour presents a safety risk or seriously disrupts the course.
Where a learner is removed from a course because of their behaviour, this will not automatically entitle them to a refund.
Any decision regarding a refund or transfer will be considered having regard to the circumstances.
19. ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
Learners must not attend practical training while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or any substance that could impair their ability to safely participate.
Pass Bike reserves the right to prevent a learner from participating in practical activities where we reasonably believe they are impaired.
20. DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Learners are responsible for taking reasonable care of Pass Bike property, motorcycles, tools and equipment.
Where damage is caused intentionally or through reckless misuse, Pass Bike reserves the right to seek reasonable compensation for the resulting loss.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits a learner's statutory rights.
21. PASS BIKE CANCELLATION OR CHANGES
In exceptional circumstances, Pass Bike may need to cancel, postpone or change a course.
Examples may include:
- Instructor illness or unavailability;
- Health and safety concerns;
- Workshop or premises issues;
- Equipment failure;
- Insufficient course numbers;
- Circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where Pass Bike cancels a course, we will normally offer the learner the choice of:
- An alternative course date; or
- A refund of the amount paid for the affected course.
Where a course is postponed rather than cancelled, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative date.
Pass Bike will not normally be responsible for consequential costs such as travel, accommodation or loss of earnings resulting from a course cancellation or change, except where required by law.
22. FORCE MAJEURE
Pass Bike will not be responsible for failure or delay in providing a course where this results from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
This may include, but is not limited to:
- Severe weather;
- Fire;
- Flood;
- Industrial action;
- Government restrictions;
- Serious equipment failure;
- Utility failure;
- Public health emergencies;
- Serious illness;
- Other events outside our reasonable control.
Where such circumstances occur, Pass Bike will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and, where possible, provide an alternative course date.
23. PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Learners are responsible for their own personal belongings while attending the course.
Pass Bike accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
We recommend that valuable personal items are not brought unnecessarily onto the premises.
24. PHOTOGRAPHY AND MARKETING
Pass Bike may occasionally take photographs or video footage during training for promotional, educational or social media purposes.
Where identifiable learners are intended to be used in promotional material, Pass Bike will seek appropriate permission.
Learners who do not wish to appear in promotional photography or video should notify Pass Bike before the course begins.
25. COMPLAINTS
We aim to provide a high standard of training and customer service.
If you have a complaint about a course, please contact Pass Bike as soon as reasonably possible so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.
Complaints should preferably be made in writing and should include:
- Your name;
- Course attended;
- Course date;
- Details of the issue;
- What outcome you believe would reasonably resolve the matter.
We will consider complaints fairly and respond within a reasonable period.
26. CONSUMER RIGHTS
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects or limits any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
Where Pass Bike provides services to consumers, those services will be provided in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.
In particular, services are required to be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict liability where such exclusion or restriction would be unlawful.
27. ONLINE AND DISTANCE BOOKINGS
Where a course is booked online or otherwise at a distance, applicable consumer cancellation rights will apply where required by law.
Where a learner asks Pass Bike to begin providing the service within any applicable cancellation period, the learner may have specific rights and obligations concerning services already provided.
Where applicable, Pass Bike will provide the information required by consumer protection legislation concerning cancellation rights.
28. COURSE INFORMATION AND WEBSITE CONTENT
We take reasonable care to ensure that course information published on the Pass Bike website is accurate.
Course descriptions, photographs and examples are provided for information and illustration and may not represent the exact motorcycles, components or equipment used on every course.
Pass Bike reserves the right to make reasonable changes to course content, dates, instructors and practical exercises where necessary.
29. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND COURSE MATERIALS
Any course notes, handouts, training materials, photographs, videos, documents or other materials supplied by Pass Bike remain the intellectual property of Pass Bike or the relevant rights holder unless stated otherwise.
Course materials are provided for the personal use of the learner.
They must not be reproduced, copied, commercially distributed, sold or published without prior written permission.
30. MINIMUM AGE
Unless specifically agreed otherwise, learners must be aged 18 or over to attend Pass Bike motorcycle maintenance courses.
Learners under 18 may only attend where Pass Bike has specifically agreed to their participation and appropriate arrangements have been made.
31. INJURY, PERSONAL SAFETY AND PARTICIPATION AT OWN RISK
Motorcycle maintenance training involves practical workshop activities which may carry inherent risks, including the risk of personal injury.
By attending and participating in a Pass Bike course, the learner acknowledges that practical activities may involve, among other things:
- Working on motorcycles and mechanical components;
- Use of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment;
- Lifting, supporting and moving motorcycle components;
- Working with oils, fuels, lubricants, cleaning products and other workshop substances;
- Working with electrical systems and components;
- Working around motorcycles that may be raised, supported or otherwise positioned for maintenance;
- Risk of cuts, burns, strains, crush injuries or other injury associated with practical workshop activities.
Learners participate in practical training at their own risk and are responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health and safety at all times.
Learners must follow all safety instructions, warnings and directions given by Pass Bike instructors and staff and must immediately report any accident, injury, near miss or unsafe condition.
Pass Bike will provide reasonable instruction and supervision appropriate to the course. However, practical motorcycle maintenance activities cannot be considered completely free from risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pass Bike Ltd accepts no responsibility or liability for injury, loss or damage suffered by a learner as a result of participating in practical course activities, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by Pass Bike's negligence, or any other liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
The learner confirms that they understand the practical nature of the course and agree to participate responsibly and in accordance with all health and safety requirements.
Where a learner chooses to disregard an instructor's safety instructions, uses equipment incorrectly, undertakes an activity without permission, or otherwise acts recklessly or negligently, Pass Bike accepts no responsibility for any resulting injury or damage to the extent permitted by law.
Pass Bike reserves the right to stop a learner from participating in any activity where the instructor reasonably believes that the learner is placing themselves or another person at risk.
32. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any statutory rights the customer may have.

Motorcycle maintenance training involves practical workshop activities which may carry inherent risks, including the risk of personal injury.
By attending and participating in a Pass Bike course, the learner acknowledges that practical activities may involve, among other things:

Learners must follow all safety instructions, warnings and directions given by Pass Bike instructors and staff and must immediately report any accident, injury, near miss or unsafe condition.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by Pass Bike's negligence, or any other liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
The learner confirms that they understand the practical nature of the course and agree to participate responsibly and in accordance with all health and safety requirements.
Where a learner chooses to disregard an instructor's safety instructions, uses equipment incorrectly, undertakes an activity without permission, or otherwise acts recklessly or negligently, Pass Bike accepts no responsibility for any resulting injury or damage to the extent permitted by law.
Pass Bike reserves the right to stop a learner from participating in any activity where the instructor reasonably believes that the learner is placing themselves or another person at risk.
